Recap

Denver made quite the first impression in Week 1, rolling past Detroit 42–7 behind a balanced offense and a defense that spent most of the night in Jared Goff's backfield. Bo Nix was sharp through the air, throwing for 201 yards and four touchdowns, while J.K. Dobbins handled the heavy lifting on the ground with 129 yards and two scores. Evan Engram emerged as Nix's favorite scoring target, finishing with 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Detroit actually moved the ball reasonably well, finishing with 280 yards of offense, including 208 through the air from Goff. Jahmyr Gibbs added 62 rushing yards and scored the Lions' lone touchdown, but drives repeatedly stalled against a relentless Denver pass rush. The Broncos piled up **six sacks while not allowing a single sack themselves**, and Jonah Elliss led the charge with seven tackles and two sacks. Denver also won the turnover battle 2–0 and turned those extra opportunities into points. The result was one of Week 1's most complete performances: 331 yards of offense, zero turnovers, six sacks and 42 points. **Player of the Game:** J.K. Dobbins — 129 rushing yards, 2 TD.
