Recap

Denver survived its toughest test yet, overcoming three turnovers to escape New England with a 31–28 victory in a Week 3 shootout. The Broncos piled up **422 yards of offense**, led by another huge performance from J.K. Dobbins. Dobbins ran for 171 yards and a touchdown as Denver completely controlled the ground game, outrushing New England 182–30. When Denver went to the air, the Bo Nix-to-Jaylen Waddle connection did the damage. Nix threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns, with **all three scores going to Waddle**, who finished with 128 receiving yards. New England had plenty of firepower of its own. Drake Maye threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns, while Hunter Henry led the Patriots with 107 receiving yards and a score. With virtually no running game to lean on, Maye kept New England in it through the air until the end. The Patriots also won the turnover battle 3–1, giving them every opportunity to steal the game despite being outgained by 125 yards. Denver's defense helped offset those mistakes with two sacks and an interception from Patrick Surtain II. In the end, Denver's explosive offense was just enough to overcome its mistakes and hold off the Patriots, 31–28. **Player of the Game:** J.K. Dobbins — 171 rushing yards, 1 TD.
